Logo Design- why make it simple?

The reason why a logo should be as simple as possible is no mystery for logo designers but it is sometimes a question to clients who wants to come up with logo for their business. I’ll try to walk you through the reasons that savvy designer is holding on when making a logo and why make it as simple as possible.

Its visual impact to the market

Designers understands that a non-designer bunch of people usually do not take time analyzing a logo. It is a challenge on their part to create something that can remain in the mind of those that sees the logo. Any logo with some complex design will not get on to your market’s head and memory. It is only those that come out in solid feature and those in simple form that stands out the many things their eyes see.

Practicality in terms of expenses

When needing to reproduce your corporate material, it will be more expensive and hard at the same time to copy a logo with complex designs. It falls on the expense of losing the perfect image of your logo that is acting as a frontline image of your business. So, creating something that can be hardly copied and doesn’t look good in black and white printing is useless and will cost you a lot of money.

Appearance in different media and physical format

Logo with complex designs will not be friendly in terms of its reproductions. Designs with fancy glowing effect and spinning 3D symbol could not be as appealing when cut out of MDF, or it could not be good when webmasters scale it down and turns it monochrome blue to match with other site’s logo.

Actually, there are a lot of things to consider when it comes to the rule of simplicity in logo design. you can see in both angles of technicality and perceptual, but to cut that all in simple view, see how big brands are made like NIKE, GUCCI, and there’s a lot… they don’t have Michael Angelo’s stokes and stuffs yet it’s leaving a mark in the market’s mind.
